I have never worked in an office where it was 'normal' so send round emails to EVERYBODY, including the MD. Here are some of the funny-ish ones that have been sent:

'Anybody fancy last day lunch? We could head off at 12.30 (otherwise Katie may eat one of us)'
'Benchmarking @ 4:00, bring thirst and hunger'
''I am aware the server is down, please stop harassing me about it' (Email didn't work either...we got this email 3 days later)
'Delicious, home made (but not by me) biscuits in the kitchen
''Half a banana loaf in kitchen, apologies boyfriend ate other half without asking!'
